I brought BETWEEN NOW AND FOREVER, book four of my “Enter the Between” visionary fiction series, to my backyard friends for their input.
After all, the story excerpt I planned to share concerned them–their moos to be exact.
Happy cows are quiet cows as this video demonstrates. But, oh my, when their moos get loud and high-pitched, watch out! It’s a sure sign that something is wrong.
Anyway, I’m not exactly a cow whisperer, so I resorted to sign language to garner the cows’ unbiased input: A shake of the head signifying a “no way,” a backing off, wariness, and a sniff or a lick, full approval.
Here it goes!
Well, I’d say my girls did a pretty good job of ignoring me and my work. Cows are tough critics. But hey, I’m an author. I’m used to rejection!
If nothing else, I acquired some vlogging experience.
A vlog is a record of one’s thoughts, opinions, or experiences, filmed and published on the internet.
I call it speaking directly and candidly to my audience. You.
This vlog, in particular, is what’s called a “Talking Head” vlog, unedited and uploaded to the web just as shot. Raw, with zero embellishments!
When I get better at this, which means learning how to use my video editing program (ha, for me a deep learning curve), I’ll start doing more fancy stuff.
Stay tuned. Next time, the cows might even cooperate.
