In my last post, my protagonist Marjorie Veil enters the Between (aka The Pathway to Self, Psi field, The Zone, Quantum Field, Collective Unconscious) by letting go of her task-oriented, controlling self and following her instincts.
In other words, she crosses into the Between via Surrender.
The Between is a place of inner knowledge and breakthrough experiences, where the gates of the mind are pushed ajar, making room for threshold experiences, which Carl Jung called synchronicities and Dr. Deepak Copra calls the power of coincidence.
Between Will and Surrender: Chapter Twelve
In chapter twelve of Between Will and Surrender, a seemingly random event occurs in Marjorie Veil’s life that affects her in a life-altering way.
She enters an antique shop and finds the perfect mirror to fill the space above the fireplace in her home. The mirror’s surface appears a bit wavy and tarnished near the edges, giving it a spooky feel, but its center, except for a sprinkling of small black spots, is clear as newly re-silvered glass.
She meets her reflection in the mirror with a start. Her eyes sparkle with a child-like joy that she hasn’t experienced in years.
Over her left shoulder, she catches sight of another set of eyes. Green and familiar.
No. It can’t be.
Maybe what she sees is an illusion or the result of a mirror tilt; or maybe her subconscious has conjured up the image due to newly awakened memories.
Is the mirror a spiritual doorway as her father had once claimed? Is a deeper intelligence at work? Is the universe delivering her a message?
Between Will and Surrender: Chapter Thirteen
In chapter thirteen, another beautiful, terrible event occurs by chance. A “one in a million” chance.
Or is it?
Marjorie reels and her soul takes a breath. Is this a random occurrence? Hell no. This incident is personal. More than personal. It’s groundbreaking. An incident over which she has no control.
This feeling of helplessness isn’t new to her, but familiarity doesn’t guarantee mastery or acceptance.
She feels like the innermost doll in a set of nesting matryoshkas, the doll you can’t crack open, the one that carries nothing inside.
Slowly shock turns into curiosity, and she realizes there’s something bigger and deeper going on in her life than simple coincidence, a glimpse into the creative mind of the universe.
Maybe by paying attention and following the signs, she can open up to a new realm of possibilities. Possibilities that match the questions going on inside of her. Who am I? What is my purpose? What’s wrong with me?
Join me next post as Marjorie makes a discovery at the Carmel Mission Cemetery that relates to the mirror she’d purchased and causes her to tap into the holographic labyrinth that connects us all.
As always, thanks for stopping by,
